This page explains what personal data codebox.co.uk collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site is run by Codebox Development Limited (company number 08339880, registered office 7 De Havilland Drive, Liverpool, England, L24 8RN), which is the controller of that data. Questions about it can be sent through the contact form.

When you use the contact form

We collect the name, email address, company, phone number and message you enter. We use them only to reply to you and, if we end up working together, to run that work. Nothing is added to a mailing list or shared with anyone else. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

Your message is sent to us as an email. We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any work that follows, and delete those that go nowhere within two years.

The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a person rather than a bot is sending it. reCAPTCHA loads only once you start filling in the form, and sends Google information about your browser and how you use the page. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

Google Analytics

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read and how people find the site. It tells us about visits in aggregate, not who you are, and we do not use it for advertising. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using Cookie settings. If you do not accept, Google Analytics is never loaded.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses:

  • Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_PRKS8L1TND), set by Google Analytics only if you accept, kept for up to two years.
  • reCAPTCHA cookies, set by Google when you use the contact form, to tell people from bots.
  • Your cookie choice, kept in your browser's local storage so we do not ask on every visit. It is not sent to us.

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings, or clear cookies in your browser.

Who else handles your data

We use a few trusted providers to run the site, each bound to protect your data and use it only on our instructions:

  • Amazon Web Services hosts the site and the contact form, in London.
  • Resend delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
  • Google provides our email (Google Workspace), reCAPTCHA, Google Analytics and the site's fonts. Loading the fonts tells Google your IP address.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop or limit using it. Send us a message through the contact form, or write to us at our registered office above, and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
